Spot landing results 2010

10th April 2010 and a bright & sunny day with a slight breeze saw 10 members enter in the spot landing competition and almost as many spectators

ROUND 1

First to fly Paul Lewis made a smooth landing on his first pass to score 10 pts downwind of the spot

Next to go Graham Castle scored a 10 point touchdown upwind of the spot

Brian Belcher next on his first pass aborted a 10 point landing when only 4 feet off the ground only to touch down in the same upwind segment on his second pass 10 points

Peter Wood landed long upwind on his second pass with no score and would have run off the end of the runway but for a skilful go around just avoiding a tip stall on lift off

Steve Wilson smoothly landed in the upwind 5 points segment removing his undercarriage and retired from the contest

Joe Gabris landed without drama upwind of the spot for a score of 10 points on his first pass

Simon Vines used the maiden flight of his Demon to good effect scoring 10 points on his first pass in the upwind segment

Chris White put his accro wot down upwind of the spot for 10 points on his first pass

Eric Edwards landed his wot 4 for 5 points upwind on his first pass

Rob Jepson .caught out by a strengthening breeze failed even to make it as far as the scoring area so 0 points

Cenk Tugcetin touched down for a gentle 10 points on his first pass

ROUND 2

Paul Lewis scored a 10 point touchdown on his first pass

Graham Castle scored 10 points with a greaser of a landing on his first pass

Brian Belcher dropped into the 10point box on his first pass

Peter Wood touched ground on his first pass for 5 points

Joe Gabris landed for 5 points on his second pass

Simon Vines kicked up the sawdust of the centre box and logged the first 15 point landing of the contest

Chris White followed with an almost carbon copy 15 points on his first pass

Eric Edwards approached high and slow and landed short of the scoring zone 0 points

Rob Jepson scored an inelegant 10 points on his first pass

Cenk Tugcetin landed for a 10 point score

TIE BREAK

Simon Vines came in for a slightly heavy 10 point landing on his first passes total 35 points

Chris White tested his undercarriage with a nose heavy landing but in the 15point box on his first pass total score a winning 40 points

Congratulations Chris who was awarded a certificate and a pack of epoxy. Well done all entrants !
