Where more than one contestant was eliminated in any particular round the placing is determined by the number of successful first time passes e.g. / O O / is better than O / O / and / O O O beats O / O O

Saturday 9th May was again very windy and it was doubtful at one point that the contest would be staged..but by 1.45pm the general consensus was that we should go ahead with it so the posts and tape were duly erected (and then re-erected after some and changes in design to prevent the wind blowing it down again.)

10 members were brave enough to enter

The tape started at a height of approx 6ft 6ins .. Rod , Cenk ,Rob and Paul flew under the tape on their first run. Peter ,Joe,Graham & Eric succeeded on their second run. Simon flew his Zaggi into the ground on his second run and Derek accurately flew his Accro Wot into the far post on his second run. ( 8 left!)

Round 2 (Tape at 5ft 6ins) Rod & Cenk again successfully flew under the tape on their first run. Joe & Paul succeeded on their second run. Rob & Eric failed to fly under the tape ... Eric unintentionally cut the tape on his landing approach so Peter`s take off was considerably delayed while the tape was repaired. Peter had to abort his attempt (due to an unrelated cause) and retired from the contest at this point. And Graham broke the tape on his first run. (4 left!)

Round 3 (Tape at 5ft) Rod & Cenk matched each other`s perfect score by each flying under the tape on their first run . Joe cut the tape on his first run and his subsequent uncharacteristically clumsy landing in the rough removed his undercarriage. Paul failed to fly under the tape . (2 left!)

Round 4 (Tape at 4ft 6ins) Again Rod & Cenk match each other by each flying under the tape at the first attempt.

Round 5 (Tape at 4ft) An over optimistically short take off run resulted in Rod tip stalling his Wot 4 and crashing out of the contest.. Cenk flew to victory by again flying his small electric Cessna under the tape on his first run ,recording a perfect score of first time success in each round. He is now in possession of a certificate and a hinge slotting kit. NEXT CONTEST .... STANMORE ...13TH JUNE...2.00PM...........................................BOMB DROP
