Pilot of the Year Competition
NADMAS presents the competition as a fun way for the entrants to prove their skills in precision flying by undertaking a number of challenges. To be conducted in accordance with the normal requirements of the NADMAS rule book with some additions to acknowledge the more exacting environment of the contests.
It is the decision of the individual whether or not to undertake a particular challenge …NADMAS cannot accept any liability for any damage or injury to any person or property resulting directly or indirectly from, or as a consequence of, any persons` participation in this competition. A person who undertakes any of the challenges will be deemed to have read, understood, and accepted these conditions and fully understands the nature of the challenge undertaken
The competition is open to all flying members of NADMAS who should examine each challenge and decide whether or not to enter having regard to their own abilities and the suitability of the model they wish to enter.
All models entered must be fixed wing, with a wingspan no less than 30” and no greater than 72”.
Models may be I/c or electric powered (turbine/jet power is prohibited) and must comply with the club 80db noise limit.
Any model not complying with the required parameters or that is considered by the judges to be “not in the spirit of the contest” will be disqualified.
The competition will be made up of 5 separate contests to be flown at Stanmore on selected Saturdays over the course of the season.
UPDATE 6-4-09
Hi All
To enable as many members as possible to enter the competition the following dates have been changed;-
Because of Easter weekend the spot landing contest originally scheduled for saturday 11th April will now be held on saturday 18th April Because of a clash of dates with the Model Airshow at Blackbush the Limbo contest originally scheduled for saturday 16th May will now be held on saturday 9th May
Attachments this mail show the detailed rules of each contest...which are more or less self explanatory but if you have any queries please ask me and i will endeavour to clarify things.
Also a picture of SLEC`s bomb and pictures of my interpretation of the same with release mechanism ....along with an arrester hook using the same hardware. To answer one question .....you do not need to use the same model throughout the whole competition (choosing the most suitable airframe for each contest is all part of the fun and skill) but you cannot change model during the course of an individual contest.
Along with a certificate there will be an inexpensive and slightly useful prize for the winner of each contest and a slightly less inexpensive and marginally more useful prize for the winner of the competition overall.
S
