The 24th Wings and Wheels Model Spectacular
Gates open 9am, flying from 9.30 to 5.30pm. First held at North Weald Airfield in 1986, the show has evolved into one of the most respected and popular model shows in the UK and has featured some of the very best models and pilots from the UK and Europe. Middle Wallop International Electric Flight Event
This years event will commemorate Colonel H. J. Taplin worlds first officially recorded R/C electric model flight on the 30th June 1957. He used his seven year old R/C Radio Queen prototype. Motive power was from a 24v government surplus Emerson motor & 25 silver/zinc cells. On the Sunday it is hoped to hold competition for the Exide & Drydex Batteries trophy for the best flown electric powered Radio Queen This beats Fred Militky of Graupner fame, who first achieved a successful flight with a F/F model in October 1957.
