Dead Stick Landing

DEAD STICK SPOT LANDING

  • With the a/c ready on the runway and pilot positioned in the pilot box . The pilot will open the throttles at which point the stop watch will be started. The pilot will takeoff and climb for 30 SECONDS at which point the pilot will be told to reduce the throttle to idle and or off for electric and perform a dead stick landing with the aim to land with the wheels first touching the runway within the marked areas.
  • Once the aircraft motor has been switched off the aircraft must land within 3 minutes.

  • Any pilot who nose dives or deliberately causes their model to land heavy sustaining damage will be disqualified from that round.
  • Points will be awarded as follows:-

15 points for a landing in the centre area

10 points for a landing in either of the 2 inner areas

5 points for a landing in either of the 2 outer areas

1 point for landing on the runway

  • There will be 2 rounds for each pilot and their final score will be the total from both rounds.
