Rules for each Competition

ROLL AND LIMBO

Each contestant will take it in turns to attempt to fly their model under the tape with out it touching the tape, supporting poles and the ground. If they succeed they will progress to the next round when the tape will be lowered by 1ft after the first round and 6inches in each subsequent round.

Attempts will be made by each remaining contestant in turn to fly their model under the tape at the new height until only one successful contestant remains and they will be declared the winner.

An attempt will be a take off circuit followed by a circuit incorporating a roll and flying under the tape followed by a landing circuit.

DEAD STICK SPOT LANDING

With the a/c ready on the runway and pilot positioned in the pilot box . The pilot will open the throttles at which point the stop watch will be started. The pilot will takeoff and climb for ONE minute at which point the pilot will be told to reduce the throttle to idle and or off for electric and perform a dead stick landing with the aim to land with the wheels first touching the runway within the marked areas.

Once the aircraft motor has been switched off the aircraft must land within 3 minutes.

Any pilot who nose dives or deliberately causes their model to land heavy sustaining damage will be disqualified from that round.

Points will be awarded as follows:-

15 points for a landing in the centre area

10 points for a landing in either of the 2 inner areas

5 points for a landing in either of the 2 outer areas

1 point for landing on the runway

There will be 2 rounds for each pilot and their final score will be the total from both rounds.

The bomb must be released from a height of between 10 and 25feet. With the aim of it first landing within the marked out area.

One bomb only should released during any one attempt “ Cluster bombing is forbidden”.

The contest will consist of 2 rounds. For each round the pilot must take off and complete one circuit. The pilot then has up to two circuits in which to drop their bomb after which they should land.

Points will be awarded as follows:-

15 points for the bomb landing in the centre area

10 points for the bomb landing in the next outer area

5 points for the bomb landing in the outside area

There will be 2 rounds for each pilot and their final score will be the total from both rounds.

EGG FLIGHT EXPEREINCE

The aircraft must be adapted to carry an egg in such a way that if the aircraft is inverted or rotated more than 90 degrees from the horizontal in the static condition the egg will depart its container. (The most appropriate and preferred way of achieving this is to attach the lower section of the standard 6 egg box or part of to the aircraft. See Photo.)

The contest is a knockout contest and will consist of three rounds.

a). With the egg on board takeoff and complete one full circuit then complete a landing circuit and land with the egg still onboard intact and still in the container.
b).With the egg onboard takeoff and complete one full circuit. Then complete a touch and go on any part of the runway in use followed by a landing circuit and landing with the egg still onboard in the container and intact. 2 attempts may be made at the touch and go during the flight.

c). With the egg onboard takeoff and complete one full circuit. Then complete a normal inside loop followed by a landing circuit and land with the egg still onboard in the container and intact.

The eggs will be provided by the club and placed in the agreed container by the judge as the aircraft is made ready for takeoff.

If more than 1 person completes the final task they will all be considered joint firsts.
